Privacy Policy
SaleAlert NZ helps shoppers find and check New Zealand sales and deals. This policy explains how SaleAlert handles personal information, including email-alert subscriber data.
SaleAlert is operated by Web Design Auckland (www.webdesignauckland.co.nz). Contact: salealert.co.nz@gmail.com.
Information SaleAlert collects
- Information submitted through deal submission forms, such as deal URLs, notes and optional retailer details.
- Email-alert signup information, once signups launch, such as email address, optional first name, selected alert categories, signup source and consent records.
- Basic technical information needed for security, spam prevention, diagnostics and site operation.
- Aggregated or event-style site interaction data where analytics tools are enabled.
Why SaleAlert uses this information
- To send requested deal alerts and manage subscriber preferences.
- To verify and review submitted deals.
- To keep the site secure and reduce spam or automated abuse.
- To understand which pages, categories and retailer links are useful.
- To respond to correction, unsubscribe, access or deletion requests.
Legal basis for email alerts
SaleAlert deal-alert emails are based on consent. Signup forms should use clear wording, no pre-ticked marketing consent, and an unsubscribe route in every marketing email.
Processors and services
SaleAlert may use WordPress, website hosting, Emailit for email delivery and subscriber handling, Cloudflare Turnstile or similar anti-spam checks, analytics tools, caching/CDN tools and affiliate networks. These services process data only as needed for the site and email-alert operation.
Email tracking
SaleAlert’s recommended default is to keep email open and click tracking disabled unless a clear consent basis and policy wording are in place.
Retention
- Pending, unconfirmed email-alert signups should be deleted after a short period such as 30 days.
- Active subscriber records are kept while the person remains subscribed.
- Unsubscribed addresses may be kept as minimal suppression records so SaleAlert does not email them again by mistake.
- Deal submissions and operational logs are kept only as long as useful for review, security or site operation.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to access, correct, delete or stop processing your subscriber information. You can also withdraw marketing consent by unsubscribing from deal-alert emails. Contact salealert.co.nz@gmail.com.
International processing
Some processors may store or process information outside New Zealand. SaleAlert will keep processor and email-platform documentation for compliance records where provided.
